Two week checkup

We headed back to the pediatrician's office this morning, where it was again confirmed that Isabella is beautiful and healthy and will be the millionaire CEO of a major multinational corporation within months. While the last part may have been a slight exaggeration, the rest is spot on. Our gorgeous daughter got a clean bill of health today, weighing in at 8lbs, 8oz, and 22 inches long. For those keeping score, that means she's 6 ounces heavier and 1 inch longer than she was at birth, and never before has weight gain been cause for such glee in our household.

Here are a couple pictures taken with Cori's camera phone (as such, they're kinda low-res):

More pics? Revolutionary!

Cori and Isabella are doing really well. Cori seemed remarkably well-rested this morning, and Isabella has been really good about sleeping (sometimes so good that we get concerned and start checking for a pulse). I'm back at work, and I am of course totally distracted by thoughts of my wife and baby at home. Let's see how they're doing:

Pictures? What a crazy idea!

All by ourselves... kinda

Well, Cori's mother and sister headed back to Illinois yesterday afternoon, so last night was the first night of it being just us. Of course, by "just us", I mean "just" me, Cori, Isabella, Rory, Maggie, Rufus, Milo, Simon, Sebastian, Josie, Lilly, Mocha, Frodo and Sam (That's Dad, Mom, baby, dog, dog, dog, dog, dog, dog, cat, cat, cat, hermit crab, hermit crab, for those of you trying to keep up). Anyway, the night went pretty well I think. I am impressed every day with how good at the whole "mom thing" Cori is already. She's had her frustrations of course, but overall she's taking to it like a fish to water, and I couldn't be more proud of her.

Okay, okay, okay. I'll shut up and just post some more pictures:

Variety is the spice of life

I thought I'd mix things up today and maybe try posting some pictures of my daughter:

Sleeping Beauty

My fist. It is delicious.

I'm back at work, and it's killing me not to be home with Cori and Isabella, but thanks to Cori's picture phone, I got an update from home in my e-mail today:

Now with bigger thumbnails!

Another long night, but another rewarding experience. Isabella is still on a schedule that only she truly understands, but Cori and I are starting to catch on... we think. We stopped by the pediatrician's office this morning to have an early weight check done, and she's started to gain back a little of the weight she had lost in the hospital, so that's good. The doctor agrees that she is the most perfect child ever born, and swears that she doesn't tell everyone else the same thing about their kid. I choose to believe her.

Oh, and last night was Isabella's inaugural sponge bath at home. Yes, of course I took pictures. I'll stop talking... We all know you're not here to read.
